The Autonomous Non-Commercial Educational Institution of Higher Education “Russian New University” (RosNOU) was established in 1991 when a group of graduates of the so called “Phystech” – the world famous Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), founded by well known physicists and Nobel Prize winners P.L. Kapitsa, N.N. Semenov and L.D. Landau – decided to try and set to humanitarian education.
Currently RosNOU is a classical multi-discipline University, a leader among Russia’s non-state higher educational institutions, a center for research and innovation in the Moscow region, and a standard-bearer for modern, non-state higher education providers. The mission of RosNOU is to create a modern research and education system in the private sector of education aimed at targeted training/retraining of specialists for state and commercial organizations in high-tech sectors of the Russian economy. RosNOU’s target goal by 2020 is to achieve a rating position (50 to 100) with the world’s highly-developed private University and research centers.
